BAAPS Cosmetic Tourism Database
Find out how to submit cases of cosmetic tourism complications
Cosmetic tourism is an ever increasing concern with more patients seeking advice and treatment on return to their home country.
BAAPS established a database to record patient presentations and to date have over 150 incidents recorded. With more entries, the database becomes a better reflection of national trends so they would encourage you to add cases prospectively.
There is a brief login process for first data entry and the online form is straightforward to complete taking no more than a few minutes.
Over half the patient entries relate to complications following breast surgery so the ABS is ideally placed to add valuable information. Turkey accounts for almost 80% of the recorded complications, over half of presentations require at least one GA procedure to correct the problem and almost 15% of patients requiring multiple surgeries or admission to HDU/ITU.
BAAPS would like to thank the members of ABS for their ongoing commitment to treating patients in need. With data comes power, so please submit entries for analysis. The ABS will be fully credited for all completed entries.
