The Association of Breast Surgery aims to advance the practice of breast surgery for the benefit of the public through education, research and training in relation to breast conditions and breast surgery.

The ABS is now running a number of charitable projects.  Any charitable donations will be ring fenced for that purpose. Donations can be made for the following projects:

• Overseas Projects
  The International Forum ran its first overseas course in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe in 2019.  The group is looking for donations to fund equipment and teaching materials for future courses and for projects aiming to raise breast awareness and standards of care in low and middle income countries.
  
  
• International Fellowships
  The ABS would welcome donations to bring delegates from overseas to the UK to attend the ABS Conference or an ABS course and undertake an observership at a UK hospital.
  
  
• Educational Fellowships
  The ABS funds a number of educational fellowships each year to allow UK members to travel abroad to further their training and education.  Funds donated will enable the ABS to support more fellowships each year.
  
  
• Research Development Grants
  The Academic and Research committee have been offering Research Development Grants for a number of years.  The grants are available for a wide range of projects from clinical research studies to trainee collaboratives, or for work such as systematic reviews or pilot work designed to inform the development of larger studies. The ABS makes money available for these, but the number of strong applications often exceeds the amount the ABS can make available for the grants from its general funds.
  
  
• Developing Patient Information
  The ABS is establishing links with a number of breast cancer charities to work with them to develop good quality patient information to improve awareness about breast symptoms.  Funds donated will enable the ABS to develop and distribute patient information.
