FDA update on Breast Implant Associated-Squamous Cell Carcinoma

The FDA has produced an update on Breast Implant Associated Squamous Cell Carcinoma (BIA-SCC)

This is extremely rare (only 19 cases recorded) however occurring with smooth and textured implants and more aggressive than BIA-ALCL.

Importantly they are recommending that this should be mentioned in the consent process.
